Call-out and diagnostic labour are normally the first components. Repair costs then change according to electrical parts, fan motors, controllers, probes, door hardware, refrigerant leak work, compressors or major coil replacement. Remote sites, after-hours attendance and difficult roof access can also affect labour and transport.
Minor faults versus major repairs
A blocked drain, dirty condenser, failed probe or loose electrical connection is usually less involved than a compressor replacement or leaking evaporator. However, a minor symptom can hide a larger problem. For example, repeated icing may be caused by a failed defrost heater, a controller setting, a door left open, poor airflow or low refrigerant charge.

Record product temperatures, minimise door opening and move high-risk products to working refrigeration where possible. Do not keep resetting tripped equipment repeatedly, because this can worsen an electrical or compressor fault. Follow your food-safety procedures and discard unsafe products where required.

Arrange professional assessment when equipment cannot maintain a safe temperature, repeatedly trips, shows refrigerant or electrical concerns, or risks stock loss. Provide clear photographs and do not dismantle live or pressurised components.
